DNA donors help identify Franklin expedition members
A DNA analysis project has helped identify members of the ill-fated Franklin expedition, which set out from England in 1845 to find the Northwest Passage and ultimately perished in the Canadian Arctic. The project relied on DNA samples from descendants of the expedition members to make the identifications. The identifications provide new insights into the fate of the expedition.
