Prime Minister Mark Carney has announced the appointment of the Honourable Glenn D. Joyal to the Supreme Court of Canada, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of Justice Sheilah L. Martin. Justice Joyal, who most recently served as Chief Justice of the Court of King's Bench of Manitoba, brings over 25 years of experience to the role. He was nominated by the Prime Minister from a shortlist submitted by the Independent Advisory Board for Supreme Court of Canada Judicial Appointments.
