A proof of concept was created for $99 to test if a MUD, a type of text-based online game, can evaluate large language models. The project aimed to determine if a MUD could assess the capabilities of large language models in a unique and cost-effective way. The results of the experiment were successful, demonstrating the potential of MUDs in evaluating language models.
